Before you can add roads to our database you will need to purchase and install SpeedTracker from AppAnnex on your Android and Apple phone. SpeedTracker is the most elegant and unique combination of GPS speedometer and Trip computer in just one application. It only costs a few bucks and is an amazing driving companion application.

Once you have SpeedTracker installed recording and loading data is a very simple three step process:

Step one is the simplest and most fun step by far ... going for a drive or ride. Before you start all you need to do is open SpeedTracker, click on "Tracking Off" at the top, and click Start when you begin your drive.

Open SpeedTracker

Click "Tracking Off"

Click Start

Between interesting stretches of road you can click Pause or, if you want completely different roads to load into Fast and Twisty, you can click End in SpeedTracker and indicate that you want to Save your recording.

The next step, when you're all done driving, is to export the file you record. You do this by clicking the "Trips" icon in the lower-right of the application, choosing your road from the list, and clicking Export. At this point you can chose to Email the CSV file to yourself or use the Documents button to save the file for extraction via iTunes.

Important: Make sure you select the CSV format when you email or save your file --- that is the only file type we currently support!

To load your roads into Fast and Twisty you simply need to move the CSV files from your phone to your desktop. In iTunes this is as easy as going to your Apps menu, scrolling down to "File Sharing" and clicking on the SpeedTracker icon. This will populate a list of "SpeedTracker Documents" that you can then Save to... your desktop.

Now you open the Fast and Twisty web site and click on Manage and in the "Your Rank and Roads" section at the top of the page drag the CSV files you put on your desktop onto the big, green box.

When you drag the road onto the green box, Fast and Twisty Roads will process the data and load your road into our database.

Don't worry --- your data is safe with us. You decide who sees your data and who doesn't. We will NEVER share your data with anyone unless you give us permission first.

The last step is to tell everyone what is great about the road you drove. Give it a name, tell folks what city and state the road is near, describe the road, and if you have a YouTube video of the road, you can add the URL for that as well!

Last but not least, rate your road using our "five star" scale (five being the best, most awesome road) and decide whether you want the road to be visible to the public or not. The, when you click UPDATE ROAD your addition will be complete.
