"The Historic Columbia River Highway between Troutdale and Rooster Rock State Park parallels the 84 Expressway. This road has a ton of potential but unfortunately is an incredibly popular road owing to the waterfalls and other scenic views and so doesn't quite deliver. Try it on a weekday morning and you will likely have less traffic --- but always watch out for bikers and hikers and keep your speed down if possible. "
